My Childhood Basement, A Movie, & Filmmaking

I was about seven years old, sprawled out on my basement floor, when my world changed.
For the first time in my living memory, Star Wars (1977) lit up the big screen in front of me — and by big screen, I mean the kind of “giant” home projector setup that only a kid could be fully in awe of.

I wasn’t just watching a movie. I was there.
I could feel the rebellion. The tension. The wonder. The music. The emotion.
I didn’t know it then, but that was the moment I began the journey to becoming a filmmaker. A storyteller.
Why We Do What We Do: Filmmaking
Here’s the thing: I didn’t fall in love with cameras or gear.
I fell in love with the feeling.
The ability of film to transport you. To connect strangers through a shared emotional ride. To say things words alone often can’t.
That’s still what drives me today. And it’s exactly why we built Goody Films — a video production studio built not just to “make videos,” but to tell stories that move people.
Because video isn’t just content. It’s connection.
Film Production That Feels
Over the years, I've come to realize that people don’t remember the specs. They remember the feeling a story gave them.
And yet, in the rush of digital marketing and branded content, it’s easy to forget that.
That’s why, whether we’re working with a startup or a legacy company, we approach every project like we’re back in that basement — wide-eyed, all-in, and ready to make something that means something.
Whether you’re Googling “video production near me” for a social ad, a brand film, or something more ambitious, you deserve a team that sees your story as more than a sales tool.
It's your story and we want to help you tell it well!
Not Just a Videographer
Let’s be honest: there’s no shortage of corporate videographers in Lehi, Orem, Salt Lake or beyond. But not all of them are storytellers.
We don’t just hit record. We dive deep. We ask why. We help shape the narrative that makes your brand memorable, human, and real.
Because at the end of the day, people connect with stories — not talking points.
Storytelling Is Strategy
Sure, we know the technical side of film production inside and out. But what sets us apart is our obsession with why.
Why your brand exists. Why your audience should care. Why your story is worth sharing — and how to share it in a way that doesn’t just check a box, but breaks through the noise.
That’s not fluff. That’s how you build trust. That’s how you build a brand that sticks.
Back to the Basement
I still think about that seven-year-old on the floor, eyes wide open, completely swept up in a galaxy far, far away.
That’s the energy we bring to every project. Whether we’re filming on location, crafting edits in the studio, or scripting your next big campaign, the mission is always the same:
To make something people feel. To help you connect. To tell the kind of story that lingers.
