Isn't that interesting? We cannot help but build upon what others have done before us?

Agreed. Humor me for a moment.

Metaphor:

When I first started whipping out scrambled eggs in the kitchen, I just did it the way I saw my parents do it. And they learned it from their parents or someone else.

But over time (and from more influences) I began trying new things: no milk, higher heat, salting after cooking, etc. Now I cook my eggs my own way (and they're good!).

End Metaphor.

In our filmmaking and video production, we have the opportunity to pick and choose our own ingredients and methods, and see how it tastes.

And that's a beautiful thing.
